Chlorine-alkali electrolysis – brine preparation and drainage of salt storage facilities

In the modern membrane process, chlorine is produced from salt during the chlorine electrolysis. For the preparation of the salt brine, we supply filter cloths for filter presses, filter hoses for cartridge filters and filter covers for frame filters. Usually, chlorine-resistant fabrics made from PTFE, E-CTFE or PVDF materials are used. Our marsyntex® PVDF 4002 quality has proved to be very successful in these applications.

In most chlorine factories, the salt is delivered by sea and stored in salt storage facilities in the factory. Below these storage areas, pre-filter hoses made from marsyntex® PPD 3115 can be used. These hoses are pulled over the drain pipes so that the water can run off from the salt without forming crystals.
